Differences in the immature stages of Anopheles (Anopheles) coustani, Anopheles (Anopheles) tenebrosus and Anopheles (Anopheles) ziemanni from southern Africa are described. Belkin's (1962) system was used initially to differentiate between the larvae and pupae with computer analysis being utilized for the final discrimination. The usefulness of egg characters to discriminate between the three species, and the specific status of these taxa are discussed.
