The sympatric sibling species Culex torrentium Martini and Cx. pipiens L. were collected in Surrey and Cx. pipiens in Huntingdonshire, southern England. The 2 species were studied taxonomically mainly to find a diagnostic character for separating the females and some biological observations were also made.
