All available data on the treatment of Simuliid larvae with Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (H-14) in small streams were evaluated for relationships between stream width, discharge and carry. The observed correlations suggest that width is equal to discharge as a predictor of carry. Application rates based upon width have the advantage in small streams of being self-correcting for variability in stream morphology and would not require time-consuming calculations.
