A recessive, sex-linked mutant, short wing (sw), was isolated from a strain which contained an induced translocation. Genetic crosses revealed that the gene sequence is w (rose eye)- sw-M (sex) and the recombinations frequencies are as follows: wre- sw = 7.3%, sw- M = 5.9% and w re - M = 13.2%.
