The first isolation of Jamestown Canyon virus (California encephalitis group) in Ohio was obtained from Aedes triseriatus (Say) mosquitoes collected as eggs between 21 July-12 August, 1975. The eggs were collected in ovitraps in the village of Gambier, Know County. This is the first report of evidence for transovarial transmission of Jamestown Canyon virus.
