Anopheles albimanus and Culex thriambus mosquitoes were infected with Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis virus, TC-83 strain, by allowing them to feed on suckling mice inoculated with virus and by intrathoracic mosquito inoculation. Transmission of the virus to one suckling mouse occurred using An. albimanus mosquitoes after a 10-day extrinsic incubation period. The results are discussed.
