Abstract

(Modified from authors' by BF Eldridge) Chemosterilized males of Culex quinquefasciatus released into a natural population at ratios of 2-5.7 to 1 caused a consistent increase in sterility over an 8-week period. Although the experiment had to be discontinued because of unfavorable weather conditions, theoretical models predict the population could have been eliminated.
