Illustrations: 20 engravings, including historiated t.p. Each of the 19 plates, bound in at the end, consists of an engraving showing distillation or other process and requisite equipment, an engraved description below and one of the five different elaborately engraved architectural frames on the other three sides. The border on plates 2, 5, 9, 13 and 17 contains the author's name and device, giving rise to the speculation that he may have executed the illustrations. Includes floreated initials and an array of tailpieces. Text is set within a frame line, and within a greater frame containing in the margins printed glosses.
