Notes
The 9 black-and-white photographs document field work completed on Howland Island. The photographs show a coastline view with a lighthouse, Lesser Frigate and Red-footed Booby colonies, up close views of Brown Booby chick with description of feathers, a Blue-faced Booby on nest with an egg, campsite on the beach, reef at low tide, and two Lesser Frigate eggs (double clutch) with ruler for scale. The images have captions on the reverse side that list location, description, Southern Island Cruise number (SIC 14), photographer (D. L. Pearson), and negative numbers (250, 251, 261, 262, 265, 269, 271, 272, and 274).
