During a baseline survey of the mammals of Caprock Canyons State Park (CCSP), Texas (including the annexed trailway), 36 species of mammals were documented to occur within the boundaries of the park. These species represent eight mammalian orders and 20 families. Accounts of species are presented for each of these 36 mammals, and include information on distribution, relative abundance, habitat preference, and reproductive biology, as well as the subspecies that occur at CCSP. Localities are listed as UTM coordinates for all specimens captured in the park, and additional specimens examined are listed were applicable. In addition to the mammals verified to occur within CCSP, 29 species are known to occur in close proximity. For each of these species, the likelihood of its occurrence in the park is discussed.
