Notes
The folder is a collection of correspondence, expense records, vaccination records, lists of supplies, and permits compiled by Alexander Wetmore in 1944. Letters discuss acquisitions, preparation, and transport of specimens, specifically from Panama. Additionally it demonstrates on-going relationships with military officials worked with during the course of the war. There are good number of letters detailing the steps and circumstances around specimens being collected, i.e. bait, preparation, storage, and required equipment. Specifically covers efforts by JPE Morrison to inspect the experimental work of the Chemical Warfare Service, United States Army (headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana), on San José Island and make natural history collections for the USNM. Correspondents include Morrison, John Enos Graf, Harry W. Dorsey, Louise M. Pearson, and Frank M. Setzler.
