Notes
This box contains traced outlines of eight fish collected at Las Moras Creek in Texas, Verde River in Arizona, and Juneau Co., Wisconsin between 1884 and 1898. Tracings appear to be made in pencil or colored pencil on sheets of paper up to 2 feet by 3 feet. Each sheet includes a top and/or side view, sometimes with features such as eyes and gill cover added. Tracing are of catfish, suckers, and a brook trout. Notes on the tracing may include fish name, date, locality, weight, and name of collector/tracer. Most sheets have Edgar A. Mearns' name on them. Also included in the box are a cut-out outline of a fish, a small sketched map, and two letters from Mearns to Mr. Barton Bean, one of which includes locality information for fish collections.
