The journal and loose notes document Vernon Orlando Bailey's fieldwork in Oregon, June 23 - August 25, 1927. He was biologist and chief field naturalist for the Biological Survey. Entries are dated and describes travel via Nevada (destinations, times of day, distances, mode of travel), terrain (caves and mountains), vegetation, ranches visited, plants and life zones, weather, list of mammals for location, and meetings with rangers.
