This field book documents Nelson's travels and field work in Mexico between 13 July and 6 November 1894. Nelson's daily, narrative notes describe the course and events of his travels. Notes contain descriptions of the geology and plants, birds, and mammals Nelson observed and collected. Elevations where some specimen were found are included. Nelson's notes also include observations about village life and cultural customs including clothing. Locations include, but are not limited to Totontepec, Choapan, and Oaxaca.
