Field notes Vol. 355F pt. 8 documents botanical collecting by William Campbell Steere in 1963 in Arctic Alaska and the Northwest Territories, Canada on a New York Botanical Garden expedition. It contains diary entries for Steere's expedition to Alaska, near Cape Thompson, Meade River, and Noluck Lake, and in the Northwest Territories of Canada, near Aklavik, Inuvik, and Banks Island, June 26-August 9, 1963. The daily diary entries are very detailed, giving travel itineraries and expenditures, notes on weather and living conditions, as well as information on botanical collecting and specimen preparation and shipment.
