The notebook documents the field work of Russ Greenberg in Ontario, Canada, during 1996. It covers observations of bird maneuvers and their habitat. Entries are lists of observation data. These cover type of bird (common name), sex, quantity, as well as information about habitat including type of tree. At the back of the volume is a list of abbreviations used in the volume for substrates, types of tree, and type of maneuvers. Inside the last page is a list of "birds of the month."
