Alexander Wetmore records counts of birds in Wisconsin in 1898. Observations were completed when he was 12 years old. The lists are at the beginning and end of the notebook. The majority of the center is blank. Lists include of birds' common names and a corresponding count. The list in the back is titled "birds seen in Wisconsin" and is broken down by type: Grebes, Loons, Yulls & Terns, Cormorants, Pelicans, Mergansers, Ducks, Mallards, Geese, Swans, Herons, Cranes, Rails, etc. Some headings are empty, others like Wood Warblers fill several pages.
