The historiated initials in the text are from 2 alphabets depicting nude boy engaged in various activities related to medicine and anatomy. The larger (on *2r, A1r, P1r, g5r, m4r, s2v, Ff5v) measures ca. 7.5 x 7.5 cm., the smaller ca. 3.6 x 3.6 cm. Both have double-line borders and horizontally lined backgrounds. Q of the larger alphabet (on *2r and s2v) incorporates a pig, trussed for vivisection as in the cut on Kk1r. A 3rd alphabet (ca. 2 x 2 cm.) appears in the index.
