These are Bailey's field notes from the Grand Canyon, Arizona, April 22-July 9, 1939 and from Pennsylvania, New York, and Kentucky, July 15-October 3, 1939. Localities in Arizona include House Rock Valley, South Canyon, Saddle Canyon, Saddle Mountain, Jacob Lake, Bright Angel.
