An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 17 November to 29 December 1963 in Java (Indonesia) and Hawaii. Collector numbers 44449-44652 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Some longer narrative notes document vegetation in various localities. Localities in Java, Indonesia include Tankubanprahu Volcano, Tugu, Tjimindi, Handeulen Island, Ujong Kulon, Krakatau, and others. Included in the front of the field book are some loose notes, a hand-drawn map, newspaper clipping, and travel ephemera. A small piece of paper containing locality data (Hawaii) collected by Violet Hansen can be found between pages 10 and 11.
