This field book is a diary describing Stejneger's daily collecting activities in Virginia and West Virginia from 16 July to 30 August 1906. Stejneger describes traveling to various locations to trap reptile and amphibian species. Often mentioned are bufo frogs, lizards, and salamanders. Specimen referred to in this diary may correspond with specimen listed in "Descriptions of reptiles and amphibians with specimen numbers from Europe (1905) and Virginia (1906)" (Box 26 Folder 4). Locations within Virginia include but are not limited to Mt. Solon and various places in Augusta County. Also included is a list of photographs taken and expenses.
