This field book contains Bailey's specimen lists of plants and animals observed and collected by Bailey in Minnesota and Wyoming from April and May of 1890. Dated specimen lists are organized by locality and typically include either common name or genus and species. Sex of specimens is sometimes noted. Entries at the back of the notebook included specimen no. 111-1128. Cubic measurements are provided for these entries. The field book also includes notes regarding Bailey's observations of small mammals and their offspring. The notebook also contains two drawings by Bailey, one of a small mammal and one landscape drawing.
