"In February, 1952, a small series of schizomid whip-scorpions ... was collected ... from sycamore humus at Topanga Canyon, Santa Monica Mountains, Los Angeles County ... Subsequently other specimens ... were seen running about on a moist, rotten log infested with subterranean termites near Tapia Park, 7 miles to the west ... Several additional collections of this same tiny arachnid have been made ... in the Malibu Creek watershed, mainly in the vicinity of Tapia Park and Crater Camp."
