"The genus Xanthotype is revised for the first time since Swett's initial work (1918). Five species are included: they occur in the continental United States and southern Canada. The following changes in synonymy are made: vagaria Swett and turbidaria Swett are placed in the synonymy of urticaria Swett; manitobensis Swett and marylandensis Swett are now synonyms of sospeta (Drury). All species are fully described; keys to the genitalia are given for the first time. All the species and their genitalia are illustrated; distributional maps are included. Taxonomic problems within the genus are discussed, including geographic and seasonal variation within certain species"--P. [1].
