Notes

The San Juan Basin is a structural basin in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado covering an area of approximately 7500 square miles. Within Upper Cretaceous and Lower Tertiary rocks of this basin are major deposits of both high quality coal as well as continental and lacustrine fossils. The present study focuses on mitigation procedures which will allow the recovery of both coal and fossils.
