Field notes Vol. 801 documents Bassett Maguire's botanical collecting in Belize and Panama in 1967 on New York Botanical Garden expeditions, with co-collector Celia K. Maguire; as well as a survey of Gmelina species at plantations and forest reserves in Nigeria. It consists of measurements of Gmelina species taken April 3-11, 1967, and a list of seed collection areas in Nigeria. Inserted in the back of the notebook are four loose sheets regarding the Gmelina survey, and a map of Nigeria forest reserves. It also includes a list of specimen numbers 60200-60211 and 60335-60341, collected in January and May 1967 in Belize and Panama. The list contains collection locations and dates, description, and herbarium determination (added later and still ongoing). These specimen numbers are duplications; they were originally used for Brazil collections in 1965. Blank pages were removed when the notebook was rebound. The Maguire field books also have their own volume numbering scheme; this is Vol. 34. Copy 2 is a photocopy made by the NYBG Archives, and may not have all herbarium determinations.
