Field notes Vol. 569 documents Arthur Cronquist's botanical collecting in Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah in 1959 on a New York Botanical Garden expedition, with co-collector Noel H. Holmgren, and in Costa Rica in 1960 on a New York Botanical Garden expedition, with co-collector Alfonso Jimenez Muñoz. It consists of a list of specimen numbers 8798-8820, collected July 29-August 6, 1959 in the western United States, and numbers 8821-8859, collected October 27-November 17, 1960 in Costa Rica. The list contains collection locations and dates, descriptions of plant and habitat, and many have determination (added later).
