Notes

Field notes Vol. 176-181 are housed together in one box. They document New York Botanical Garden expeditions to Haiti in 1905, Grand Turk Island in 1905, and Jamaica in 1907-1909 by Elizabeth Gertrude Knight Britton, Nathaniel Lord Britton, and associates.

Field notes Vol. 176 documents George Valentine Nash's botanical collecting in Haiti and Grand Turk Island in 1905 on a New York Botanical Garden expedition, with co-collector Norman Taylor. It is comprised of a list of specimen numbers 1009-1796, collected July 14-August 21, 1905 in Haiti; and specimen numbers 3757-3892, collected August 27-September 1, 1905 on Grand Turk Island. The notebook includes dates and locations, and entries have very brief descriptive information on the plant and/or habitat. Most entries do not have the full plant name. The last few pages contain a list of provisions and other miscellaneous notes.
