Correspondence from Lorenzo Sitgreaves to John Torrey, dated May 7 and May 17, 1853. In the first letter Sitgreaves apologizes for the misunderstanding that has resulted in Torrey's not yet having been paid, presumably for his work on the report for Sitgreaves' 1851 expedition. In the second, he encloses payment.
