"The Ukiah Field Office includes approximately 300,000 acres of BLM-managed surface acres and 214,000 additional subsurface acres (mineral estate) in northern California. The geographic area includes all BLM managed public lands within the counties of Marin, Solano, Sonoma, Mendocino (south of Willits), Lake, Napa, Yolo, Colusa, and Glenn"--page ES-1.

The purpose of the Ukiah Resource Management Plan (RMP) is to provide guidance in the management of the lands and resources administered by the Ukiah Field Office of the BLM that will: address conflicts between motorized, mechanized, and non-motorized/non-mechanized recreationists; protect sensitive natural and cultural resources from impacts due to increased recreational use and other land uses; provide guidance for wind energy development; and address other planning issues raised during the scoping process. The Ukiah RMP will also be comprehensive in nature, providing guidance for management of all uses and resources administered by BLM in the planning area.
