This field book is a daily diary that logs the activities and progress of a new born golden lion tamarin. The diary is dated from July 10, 1977 to November 13, 1978. A few entries from 1979 may be included. Earlier daily entries are further divided into time entries, noting the time of feedings, bathing, and other activities. Entries range from terse entries, to long paragraphs. Kleiman often includes measurements, tracking the infant's growth, and the types of food the infant is fed.
