Correspondence from Joseph Decaisne to John Torrey, dated 1842-1868. The bulk of Decaisne and Torrey's correspondence revolves around their exchange of botanical specimens and the production of plates for one of Torrey's publications. Decaisne also discusses his long association and friendship with Swiss botanist Adrien de Jussieu. The collection also includes a form letter from the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris to Torrey, signed by museum administrators Decaisne and M.E. Chevreul.
