The hydrographic sheet no. 1658 documents collecting of sea bottom specimens from The East River, channels on either side of Blackwell's Island [Roosevelt Island] in New York, September 9 - November 15, 1885. Lieut. J. M. Hawley, U.S.N., was commanding the party. The table of data includes date, locality with latitude longitude including minutes, fathoms, and appearance.
