This item is primarily comprised of letters addressed to Bailey from various persons from 1926-1939 and memoranda from Bailey from 1929-1932. Memoranda include Bailey's instructions on the care of animal skins, the collection of muskrat specimens along the Upper Mississippi River, and a memorandum addressed to Mr. Redington titled "Re: Balance of Nature". Most correspondence is related to the subject of the trapping of animal specimens for various purposes. The item also contains an application filled out by Bailey for his position as "Biologist in the Biological Survey" dated February 6, 1925.
